Abstract: This study examines the legal safeguards established by the Algerian legislator to protect consumers during the formation of electronic contracts. These safeguards include the right to prior information, the transparency of contractual terms, and the protection of personal data. Additionally, the study explores criminal offenses associated with electronic contracts, such as forgery, fraud, deceptive advertising, and violations of privacy, and evaluates the adequacy of existing penal provisions in effectively addressing these challenges. Responsibility for the protection of electronic consumers is entrusted to several administrative bodies, including the Ministry of Trade, the Regulatory Authority for Post and Electronic Communications, and the National Cybersecurity Authority.
