Abstract: This study aims to monitor the heritage manifestations drawn from historical sources and their connotations when invoked in modern and contemporary Arab and Algerian narratives. It also aims to reveal the effectiveness of the intertextuality mechanism in evoking heritage within these texts and their openness to other cultures, bringing together within them a range of artistic and aesthetic features and intellectual meanings. The text of the novel "Isabel" is an ideal model that warrants study, as it contains most of the data and features specific to the phenomenon to be investigated in our topic, enabling us to achieve its objectives.
