It also concluded that current legal systems face fundamental challenges in proving the criminal liability of legal entities due to the complexity of the causal relationship and the difficulty of determining criminal intent. The study also revealed shortcomings in evidentiary mechanisms and the inadequacy of applicable penalties to achieve the desired deterrence. Recommendations were made to develop specialized laws, establish environmental courts, enhance specialized judicial training, and develop investigative methods.
