(مكتبة كلية الحقوق و العلوم السياسية جامعة محمد البشير الابراهيمي برج بوعريريج, 2026-01-26) عمار بوجلال سناء; تواتي نريمان
Algerian legislation has witnessed significant developments in its handling of social media, particularly with its increasing use and impact on public opinion and societal behavior. The state has enacted laws aimed at regulating the use of these platforms, including provisions to combat fake news, hate speech, and incitement to violence in the digital space. Some legal texts also address the protection of privacy and the violation of individuals' honor on social media platforms. The Penal Code, along with the Media Law and the Anti-Cybercrime Law, are among the most prominent legislative frameworks addressing this area. Despite these developments, some challenges remain, such as the difficulty of technical monitoring and the need to balance freedom of expression and public safety. Therefore, Algerian legislators continue their efforts to update laws to keep pace with technological developments and protect citizens' fundamental rights.
