Abstract
Description
This course provides students with a means to understand and assimilate the various
technologies associated with several fields, including linguis cs and Natural Language
Processing (NLP). In addi on, it covers the fundamentals of text mining for informa on
retrieval, knowledge extrac on from text corpora, web explora on, and more.
The course also demonstrates how tools from Data Mining and Machine Learning can
be used to design more intelligent pla orms. Therefore, for pedagogical reasons, we have
chosen to write this document in a way that enables students to both understand the theory
and prac ce it progressively.
In the appendix, students will find R language scripts for the implementa on of all the
exercise solu ons.
