| dc.description.abstract | The Smart Desk Assistant is an AI-powered embedded system designed to improve productivity by reducing digital distractions through voice interaction, Pomodoro time management, lecture transcription, and adaptive lighting without requiring a smartphone. It features a dual-microcontroller architecture with a hybrid Edge-to-Cloud AI approach, ensuring efficient performance and secure communication. System testing validated most functional requirements, demonstrating reliable operation with a theoretical response latency of 1.76 seconds. Future developments include hardware miniaturization, on-device AI processing, wake-word detection, and specialized versions for education and language learning. | |
