Abstract

This study aims to take note of banking secrecy and the extent of its ability to advance banking work, as it poses many problems, which have a wide scope from a legal and practical point of view. This study focuses on the role of banking secrecy in the advancement of banking work, and will be based mainly on the method of analyzing texts dealing with banking secrecy in accordance with the general rules of Algerian legislation, because there is no special law on banking secrecy in Algeria with a focus on the general text, which is the text 301 of the Algerian Penal Code, and a statement of its application to the crime of banking secrecy. The issue of banking secrecy is one of the important topics related to modern economic systems, because of the effective role played by banks in social life.
