This study investigates how Master Two graduates from the Department of English at the University of BordjBouArreridj have utilized artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the process of writing their dissertations. Through a qualitative research design based on an interpretivist paradigm, the study employed semi-structured interviews and self-narrative as primary data collection tools. The findings, thematically analyzed, revealed five major themes: enhancing productivity and structure, language support and clarity, dependency and limitations, impact on academic identity and authorship, and ethical awareness and academic integrity. The research highlights both the empowering role of AI in assisting with academic tasks and the challenges it poses regarding originality, critical thinking, and ethical boundaries. It concludes with a set of recommendations for educators and institutions to support ethical and effective integration of AI into academic writing. Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Academic Writing, Master Dissertation, Qualitative Research, Ethics, Language Support, Academic Identity
