Abstract

Abstract The thesis aims to explore the image of the prisoner by shedding light on the issue of detainees andtheir rights, with a particular focus on the role of imagery in revealing their suffering and fostering solidarity with them—especially regarding the reality of Palestinian prisoners and the conditions of their detention within prisons. To uncover this often-silenced reality, we have adopted the structuralist approach. The novel A Mask the Color of the Sky by BasimKhandaqji serves as a distinguished model for this study, given its distinctive characteristics that qualify it as part of what is known as prison literature.
